Eight horses were left in the Kempton feature at the latest declaration stage which has Kauto Star as the second favourite at 7/2 while Master Minded is rated next best at 5/1.

Long Run was beaten comfortably by Kauto Star in the Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock in Novemeber on their seasonal reappearances.  However, Henderson believes that his runner ran well below par in that race and he is now returning to the kind of form that saw him win him not just the King George 12 months ago but also the Cheltenham Gold Cup back in March.

Meanwhile, Nicholls has confirmed that Kauto Star has never been better in his work at home and fully deserves his chance of going past the record he co-holds with the great Desert Orchid of four wins in the Kempton Park feature. He was of course beaten into third place in last year’s race, which was run in January due to adverse weather conditions last Christmas.

Interestingly, the stable jockey at Nicholls Ditcheat operation, Ruby Walsh, has elected to ride Kauto Star in preference to Master Minded. This will be a first attempt for Master Minded over this 3 mile distance, which could possibly provide some of the reason for Walsh’s choice. However, Nicholls believes that the eight year old who has twice won the two mile Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival will get the three miles and is reluctant to choose the winner between the two. Although he must surely be secretly hoping for the romantic ending, which of course would be Kauto Star breaking “Dessie’s” record.

Of course, this race is not necessarily between the top three in the market as last season’s Arkle Trophy Chase winner over two miles, Captain Chris, trained by Phillip Hobbs is the type that could give all three a run for their money provided he gets the trip. Captain Chris is a very classy seven year old, who Hobbs believes is a future Gold Cup horse and is unfazed by test his runner against the country’s proven top chasers. Like Master Minded, Captain Chris has not been tested over three miles and he comes to the race after unseating his jockey first time out at Exeter when looking every bit the winner of the Haldon Gold Cup over an extended two miles in November and is a 7/1 chance to bounce back with a win on Boxing Day.

Also generated interest is the Jessica Harrington trained Somersby who is rated as a 12/1 shot. Question marks however are also raised against him getting the three mile trip but if he does, then this Irish Raider could possibly reverse his 2 mile and 2½ mile form he has shown in the past against Master Minde and as such, could be a surprise package in this race.

Diamond Harry proved no match for Kauto Star or for that matter Long Run in the Betfair Chase, finishing a long way back in fourth place. However, that was his first run since he won the prestigious 2010 Hennessy Gold Cup and he can only come on for the run. His trainer, Nick Williams, did not hesitate to bring him to Kempton Park believing that he can run a very big race and like Somersby he should not be ruled out, particularly as he will definitely get the trip.

Creating another Instance on Betsender:

Many ATOM members already follow The BetPlan service, so we must create what Betsender calls a ’2^nd instance’

In doing this, it’s like running 2 Bot’s one will not interfere with the other.

One deal’s with The BetPlan service (or any other system you follow)

The Other will deal with ATOM selections.

Two points on this Video,

1. You may need to find the original betsender.exe file on your computer. Do is by using your computers search     facility to locate the above file. If you can always download again if you have already bought the license.

2. Your original download file will just show betsender in your directory, you DON’T have to change this to 1^st instance. I recommend that you call the 2^ndinstance ATOM, so that it can be easily located in the future.

A Common Mistake – MAKE SURE you change the name of new download in your directory file, or it will be a mirror of your original bot and will not operate independently.

Once you have TWO icons on your desktop right click the new one and rename it ATOM, so you don’t get confused between the two.

You should be then be able to open the new instance from the desktop and enter your Betfair details etc like you did before to get the bot running.

Note: If it still mirrors your original bot settings, showing your previous results. You done it wrong! Double check you changed the file name in your directory, if you didn’t just start again.

SETTINGS

First make sure you’ve closed the original bot, so you don’t alter the wrong one.

To follow the 2.5% non decreasing ratchet just set this up as you did on the original bot by selecting ‘Back Percentage’ on the right enter 2.5% and click non decreasing.

PLACING THE BETS

The BOT as a default will place the bet 60 seconds before the off.

I would alter that if you want to place the bets in the live market.

(Remember ATOM has no price conditions, so it’s just a matter of getting the best price possible)

If you are monitoring the price and want to place the bet before your set time just press BET NOW, this will override any time settings set. (Handy if you feel the selection is dropping in price quickly)

If you wish to place the bet at Betfair SP: ‘Select Settings‘ and ‘Settings‘ again. Then tick TAKE BSP. (remember there is a minimum stake of £2 on this option)

UPLOADING ATOM SELCTIONS:

Members will be sent an CSV file attachment with the evening email. (the file will be called ATOM Selections)

Save this file on your computer.

On your Betsender bot (Make sure you have the correct one open!)

Click TOOLS then IMPORT

Find the CSV file you just saved and press OPEN to upload.

Double check that the columns are in the correct order

i.e. The race time is in line with that column, etc then PRESS OK.

All the selections will then upload to your BOT (Double check that the email selections correspond)

If it is unable to upload you will be prompted of the error.

(Make sure if the bot can’t find the horses name, it may have been declared a non runner overnight)

Then just PRESS Start betting.

The Betsender bot will now place the ATOM bets and follow the staking plan (if selected) results will be recorded as normal

Also known as “Steeplechasing” (more on that in moment), the National Hunt Racing season starts around October with one of the first big race meetings held at Wetherby, with the “Charlie Hall Chase”.
For many though the real season opener is shortly after and run on the Old Course at Cheltenham, “The Open” is a three day meeting where the “Paddy Power Gold Cup” (originally, and long known as the ‘Mackeson Gold Cup‘) is a season highlight.
Since becoming a major feature in 1960, the 2m 4.5f race over 15 fences has seen many exciting finishes.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be digging into some of the history of National Hunt Racing as well as giving some background information on types of fences, distances run, the varied courses and maybe a glance at some of the horses and jockeys that have helped to make “Steeplechase Racing” the exciting sport it is today.

There’s that word “Steeplechasing” again, now just where does that come into play with the idea of horse racing.

National Hunt Types Of Races

There are 3 types of race run according to National Hunt Rules but only 2 of them involve jumps.

“Chase” racing is run over distances of 2 to 4.5 miles. The ‘obstacles’ are referred to as “Fences” and they are a minimum of 4.5 feet high.

“Hurdle” racing has a slightly shorter distance at 2 to 3.5 miles and the ‘obstacles’ are known as “Hurdles” and must be no less than 3.5 feet high.

The obstacles aren’t all just simple fences and in a future post I’ll describe some of the differences and challenges of the main types.
We still have the 3rd of the races run by the National Hunt, commonly called “Bumper” races, the official title is “National Hunt Flat” (NH Flat).
This type of racing is run over 1.5 to 2.5 miles and is for horses that have not yet competed either in Flat Racing or over obstacles.
Predicting winners for ‘Bumper’ racing is of course notoriously difficult and while bumper races don’t feature highly amongst the normal selections that I provide to the BetPlan members, I thoroughly enjoy the challenge that these races give me.
My BetPlan system involves a lot of statistical analysis to help me predict winners, even though the small number of bumper selections might only be 20 – 30 per year I have averaged just over 50% strike rate on them alone over the last 3 years.

Once you know and understand these facts they are not only fascinating but you can use them to make money by predicting winners or build your own system and that’s the ultimate reason for being here.

The National Hunt Season Start And End

In recent years the national hunt season start and finish has become ‘watered’ down due to the introduction of summer jumps racing, which has become very popular. Obviously the bulk of jumps racing takes place in the winter months due to the softer ground which is more suited to jumping horses.
Many great names are closely associated with National Hunt racing, there are few people who haven’t at least heard of “The Grand National” alongside horses that are more National Heroes than racehorses, “Arkle“, “Red Rum“, “Desert Orchid” are names that will surely never be forgotten

Traditionally the season is still seen to start at ‘The Open‘ at Cheltenham, in mid November, and ends in April at Sandown with ‘The Gold Cup‘, even though summer jumps continue through the official flat season.

The Magic And Mystery Of National Hunt Racing

I always look forward to the National Hunt Season, maybe not so glamorous as the flat, but there are countless races steeped in history, and there is no more amazing sight than a jumping horse in full flight over a fence.

Some feel there is no other sport like it that involves a human and an animal reliant on each other for success. I stand in awe and amazement sometimes at their skill and determination, and least we forget at risk of serious injury or death for both. I have total admiration for jockeys like Tony McCoy, Ruby Walsh and the great Richard Dunwoody who can squeeze every last ounce of effort out of their mount.

I hope in the coming weeks to give you enough insight into the world of National Hunt racing to let you share in the excitement, and of course, all the while asking the bookies to hand over their cash.

Here’s the reason why, betting or gambling on anything including horses, is for anyone an emotional roller coaster ride.

The bookies and layers love this, because it makes them money.

• When people are winning they get over excited and bet to much.

• When people are losing they can also bet to much, betting on hope, to get their money back.

This is why many fail to maintain a consistently with their betting and that’s a quick road to failure.

Therefore the secret for a professional is to try at all costs, to remove the emotion as much as possible from betting and we do that by using points NOT money.

Firstly what is a point?

This simply is your current stake. If you are betting at £20 or £200 a bet then £20 is one point, or £200 is one point.

Example:

The BetPlan recommends that you stake a maximum of 5% of your bank. i.e. a 20 point bank. Therefore if you had a £1000 bank your stake would be £50, so one point would be £50.

Using points to calculate profit and loss, becomes even more important the more successful you are.

Here’s a quick example of why, it’s so important.

Imagine you started using the recommended 5% ratchet staking plan with the service at the beginning of the year, starting with just a £200 bank. Your first stake would be £10 = 1 point.

Lets say we lost 5 in a row, that would meant a £50 loss. – No big deal to most.

Alternatively we win 5 in a row at a 7 point gain, that’s a £70 profit – Ok not bad but nothing to write home about.

Under these circumstances if you were thinking about money, it’s doubtful you would waver from the staking plan.

Lets now just go forward a few short Months. You have been strict and maintained and stuck to the staking plan.

If you had then your stake would be now close to £300 with a £6000 bank, and that’s a fact! – Results

Now image 5 losers in a row = £1500 loss.

Now that’s a large amount of money, and much more likely to affect your discipline to stick to the rules.

If you think of points it’s still the same as the £50 – only a 5 Point loss.

How about the same as above 5 winners in a row with a 7 point gain = £2100 profit. Would you be more likely to get carried away of winning over £2000 in a day. Than thinking great day a 7 point gain?

Emotion whilst betting is your enemy! Converting profit and loss into points helps to keep you betting with your head rather than your heart to maintain your success.

It begs the question, if you don’t believe you can, then why are you betting? Or even looking to have a bet.

Read on…….. because this article at best could make you 20k + a year, or at worst save you a fortune and the advise is totally free.

The article was prompted by an email that I received this morning. I’d thought I’d write this so that I wouldn’t waste valuable time answering similar emails. (Yes in the future I’d just point them to this post. )

Rather than bore you with all it’s contents, in short the writer just didn’t believe you can make money from horse race betting or systems.

Using this email I’m going to explain the 1^st and most important secret of making money from horse race betting and why.

It’s very obvious really if you don’t believe you can, guest what you WON’T ! Like anything else in life self belief and confidence is absolutely paramount, it’s the 1^st and most important rule in life, including betting.

I don’t sometimes understand why I get these emails it’s not the first and it won’t be the last. It’s like telling a plumber he can’t fix a leak. WHY are you trying to persuade me you can’t, I’m the one that has been and will continue to make money betting on horses. I just look at my betting accounts and think why are you trying to persuade me it won’t work.

If I look on the other side of the coin, yes maybe you have had a bad experience with previous information or tipster services. That I can’t help or be responsible for, but it doesn’t change the fact that you can make money, you just haven’t found the right service or believe you can.

I suppose to a certain extent I was lucky to meet and know many people that do make money from betting on horses, even from an early age I knew it was possible, it was just a matter of how.

So we come back to the 1^st and most important rule in betting, if you don’t believe you can swim a length of the pool, don’t even try, because YOU WILL DROWN.

When the student is ready, the master appears.

Getting on the right side of that line is not easy to start with, but staying on the right side can prove to even more difficult.

I feel the most difficult thing to do is to recognise when you are on the wrong side, because changing your betting system or method can make things better, but if you change at the wrong time and for the wrong reason it can be disastrous, compounding loses.

I’m sure you’ve all been there before following a system or method, then after a few loses you decided to change tack, because you recognise another method doing very well. So you change betting tactics only to find the original method is now winning and your new approach has run it’s course and starts losing.

This is the quickest way to lose money betting and the bookmakers recognise this, is to consistently change your system or method. The whole betting industry is based on making money from gamblers and the easiest way is to get them to try new ways to win money.

The ‘look what you would have won’ statements’ IF you’d have done this.

They will even offer you FREE bets to try new ways of betting, from poker to bingo. They NEED you to keep changing your system or method.

Constantly changing systems or methods is the quickest way to lose money FACT.

I hear lots of people now saying, but finding a system or method that is profitable in the first place is difficult. Well to be honest it’s not that difficult, there are quite a few systems out there that are profitable over time. I’m not just taking about my own The BetPlan system, there are many others that can and will make money, you’ve probably have even tried a few, but you changed to quickly.

From time to time I do talk to others in the industry especially the more respected tipsters / betting system and services. The general consensus is always the same, those that don’t make money from betting are the ones that change regularly from service to service. By constantly changing to try to chase profits they just keep missing them, when they do come along.

The other most important thing to recognise is when you are on the wrong side of that fine line of profit and loss, so you NEED to change betting tactics.

Proper research and keeping accurate results are a great help in this area, you should be able to recognise previous patterns, are they following current performance? The longer the example period of performance you have to compare the better. I find charts and graphs a great tool for doing this because you can visually see what has happened before, and what’s happening now.

Just to say I’m not perfect in all areas, mistakes can be made up until a few weeks ago I didn’t realise data feed mistakes in my own system and profitability flat lined for 3 Months or so. I didn’t recognise or react quickly enough, probably due to an over fear of change to a profitable system.

As you can see from the results chart we flat lined for a while, because the system is so good in the first place it was a slow gradual decline, but a decline all the same. As you can see over the last Month or so the problem has been resolved and normal patterns have returned, my mistake was not recognising that something was wrong and change was needed.

So change CAN be good in fact very good, I started with a personal betting bank of £10k at the start of the year. Using the 5% ratchet staking plan this would have increased by over 16 times, but I do draw down a lot of profit personally, currently well over £60,000 so far this year and still have a betting bank of £30,000. Not bad from just £10k but the recent change was very important to achieve these figures, it could have quiet easily been a £10k mistake for me.

In conclusion

• There is a very fine line between winning and losing.

• Finding the right method or system to get on the right side is vital.

• Change is on the whole really bad especially based on chasing profits.

• Patience and discipline are needed to stop you crossing back over to the loss side of the line.

• Recognising when things are not working and changing them quickly keeps you on the ride side of the profit line, which is VERY rewarding.

IF IT WORKS, DON’T TRY TO FIX IT

The main of the damage was to windows and televisions being ripped from the walls, the bulk of the effected Corals shops were in the London area. Their call centre was also evacuated after a request from police.

The SIS studio was also forced to close in London which effected service to many viewers.

Other incidences were also reported from Liverpool to Birmingham from many bookmaker chains, but the bulk of the damage was done in London, with the bookmakers yet to count the full extent of the cost.
